This entry is part 22 of 28 in the series Devotionals

We can’t see behind the curtains of our life to observe what God is doing. God is always watching us, however, and He is always at work. Nothing, whether good or bad, happens in our life as a matter of chance.

The dictionary defines luck as “the things that happen to a person because of chance”. Chance is considered coincidental or unplanned. Chance is accidental or without design. ABSOLUTELY NOTHING CATCHES GOD BY ACCIDENT BECAUSE GOD IS ALWAYS IN CONTROL.

Proverbs 19:21 says, “Many are the plans in the mind of a man, but it is the purpose of the Lord that will stand.” We may have plans for our life, what we want to do, where we want to go, what we want to accomplish, but remember, we can’t see behind the curtain. “What we ought to say is, ‘If the Lord wants us to, we will live and do this or that’” (James 4:15).

God is real and He’s in charge. Everything that happens to us, whether good or bad, He uses for our benefit. “We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose” (Romans 8:28). God is working things out in our life for what’s good for our souls. He uses EVERYTHING to break us off from sin, to bring us nearer to Him, to wean us from the world, and to make us fit for heaven.

The soul is the only part of man that will go to heaven or hell. There is no room for good luck, bad luck or chance in the life of a Christian. GOD IS AT WORK. One day, the curtains will open and we will see that it was God working for the good of our souls all the while.
