As followers of Christ, we are commanded to show the love of God, which is kind, caring and selfless, to a lost and dying world. In order to do that, there must be a change in our heart.
Sometimes it is a struggle to love someone, especially someone who has wronged you. May we not become proud in our thinking that we can love others on our own. It’s during these difficult times that we must ask Christ to live fully and freely in us. We need to pray and mediate on God’s Word. “Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things” (1 Corinthians 13:4-7). We can always call on the Holy Spirit to help us.
The Bible says that God is love (1 John 4:8). All who follow Christ ought to become what God is. To do and live otherwise proves that we really DO NOT know God. “We love because He first loved us” (1 John 4:19). There should be no question in our mind that it’s all about love for everyone who follows Jesus Christ. LOVE NEVER FAILS.
